Where to Begin Your Healing Journey
You don't need to know everything. You just need to start with intention. Here's your honest, grounded guide — no mysticism, just earth wisdom.
In the Ubuntu tradition, healing is not solitary "Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu" (a person is a person through other people).
Crystals are not magic objects. They are companions in your healing — formed deep in the African earth over millions of years, carrying the slow, patient energy of the ground beneath your feet. When you wear one, you carry that earth wisdom with you.
1.Start with your intention, not a crystal
Good starting intentions
Protection, Grounding, Clarity, Calm, Confidence
Before you pick a stone, get clear on what you need right now. Are you overwhelmed and need calm? Feeling unprotected and anxious? Grieving and needing comfort? Your crystal follows your intention — not the other way around. Sit with this question: "What does my nervous system most need this month?"
2.Choose one or two crystals, not ten
Best first crystals
Black Obsidian, Tiger's Eye, Hematite, Clear Quartz
Before you pick a stone, get clear on what you need right now. Are you overwhelmed and need calm? Feeling unprotected and anxious? Grieving and needing comfort? Your crystal follows your intention — not the other way around. Sit with this question: "What does my nervous system most need this month?"
3.Cleanse your crystal when it arrives
Cleansing methods
Moonlight, Running Water ,Selenite, Smoke (Incense), Sunlight
Crystals absorb energy from the earth, from the journey, from every hand they've passed through. When yours arrives, cleanse it first. Hold it under cool running water for 30 seconds (for most stones). Leave it in direct moonlight overnight. Or let it rest on a Selenite plate for 24 hours. This clears the slate so the crystal can work with your energy, not anyone else's.
4.Set your intention with the crystal
Example intentions
"I am protected", "I am grounded", "I am calm"
Hold your cleansed crystal in both hands. Close your eyes. Take three slow breaths. Speak aloud or in your mind what you're asking this stone to support — "I am asking you to help me stay grounded when I feel overwhelmed." This is not superstition. It is the practice of conscious, deliberate attention — which neuroscience confirms rewires the nervous system. Your words matter
